origins: bob ghosh was previously a director of glenn howells architects, with offices in birmingham and london. john shakeshaft previously worked at associated architects, 3d reid and llewellyn davies in london, as well as in singapore.

keener: the senior people within kinetic have an exceptional track record in the design and delivery of projects in a range of key sectors. their workload includes a number of successful competition entries. the practice invests significant time and effort into design development and research into new systems and technical solutions.

leaner: the practice has evolved its own systems for the efficient delivery of projects. this includes internal design review and rigorous monitoring against cost and programme targets. the structure of kinetic allows the directors to be involved in all key decision-making on projects, at every stage. the practice has built a strong and diverse client base and gained a reputation for delivering work of the highest quality.

greener: the practice is at the forefront of sustainable architecture and are developing their own sustainablity toolkit with birmingham city university for use on all of their projects. the toolkit explores an number of strands including placemaking, social impact, economic viability, flexibility and carbon reduction. the latter includes the consideration of energy, waste, material selection, transportation and ecology.

kinetic practice what they preach and adopt strict codes for the specification of materials and environmental control systems. they were also the first architects in birmingham to have a car minimisation policy and the first to offer company bicycles and amenity facilities for cyclists.
